Three and a half-months before the 9/11 attacks, that branch of the CIA known affectionately as "Hollywood" released the movie "Pearl Harbor." The film got the American public in the right frame of mind for the 9/11 attacks. Watch it again if you get the chance.

The script and dialogue are so loaded with psychological cues, conditioning people for new war, it is absolutely eerie. While the film was successful at the box office, it was critically lambasted. Many aspects of the film raised critics' curiosity as to the film's purpose.

For example: New York Observer reviewer Andrew Sarris:
"Pearl Harbor is not so much about World War II as it is about movies about World War II

."A. O. Scott of The New York Times:
"Nearly every line of the script drops from the actors' mouths with the leaden clank of exposition, timed with bad sitcom beats."

The AMC TV station is this week re-running the 2001 film. To me, that is ominous.

"Pearl Harbor" star Ben Affleck later directed the 2012 film, "Argo," a Hollywood (CIA) version of the 1979 Iran hostage crisis, re-demonizing Iran just in time for Washington's 2012 escalation of war rhetoric against Iran.
