PLEASE FORWARD
10,000 copies of the first issue of the bilingual New Press/Nueva Prensa have just been published. They are available at the Arlene Francis Center at 99 Sixth St. in the Railroad Sq. of Santa Rosa. The paper is on pages the size of the Press Democrat and the first issue is 16 pages long.
The publication includes articles on the killing of Andy Lopez, foreclosed homes in the North Bay, worker-owned success at Alvarado Street Bakery, immigration reform, the new owners of the Press Democrat, millionaire Sandy Weill at Sonoma State University, 100 Hundred Thousand Poets for Change, the arts in general, poetry, other issues, and some fabulous photos.
Please consider writing letters to the Editorial Collective for the next issue. It is time that we had a new print newspaper to tell stories from points of view other than those of the mainstream media. What sorts of issues do you think should be covered in future issues?
Please pass the word, pick up a copy, help distribute it, and tell your friends about the New Press/Nueva Prensa.
