Tiny House Zoning, Permitting and Certification Workshop is coming up on Sunday, Dec 4th in Petaluma, CA.
(Workshop includes a full tour of my legal, permitted Tiny House.)
There are currently two types of Zoning that are available for Tiny Housers and folks who want to put a Tiny House on their property:
1) Care Cottages: 18 counties in CA allow Caregivers, Elderly, Disabled persons and others to live in a Tiny House On Wheels in conjunction with a main house. (Either house can be occupied by the caregiver.) This is really quite easy to do and many people are finding it works for them - including myself (see pics in post below of my Tiny House).
2) Most counties allow dwelling in a Tiny House On Wheels (THOW) for up to three years during the construction or renovation of another house on the same property. The THOW can then be converted to a care cottage.
