    * Community Partnerships: New Models for Successful Parks and Open Spaces - A forum with leaders from the Sonoma County Agricultural Preservation and Open Space District, Sonoma County Regional Parks, Santa Rosa Recreations and Parks, and LandPaths.

    Once Upon A Wetland: Animal Tales from the Marsh

    Join us in Heron Hall for a special evening with master storyteller Ane Carla Rovetta as she shares stories from the old days when animals could talk and magic filled the marsh. This special event includes tea and snacks and is great for all ages. Ane Carla is a local science illustrator, field biologist, storyteller and teacher of cultural uses of plants and nature crafts. Ane Carla’s “Once Upon a Wetland” art exhibit will also be available to view in Heron Hall at this time. Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for children, the event takes place from 6:30-8:00 pm.     Eat cake, drink tea and discuss death, the second most important event of our lives. This is a contemporary and revolutionary international movement out of Europe gaining popularity the last 2 years. These gatherings are intellectual and heart-felt experiences with a chance to explore and express ourselves in community on the subject of death. Because each one of us will have our own rendezvous with death, we are all qualified experts. The objective of Death Café is to increase awareness of death with a view to helping people make the most of their (finite) lives.

    Coffee, tea and cake will be served. All are welcome!
