    The Laguna Foundation is offering Laguna Guides Training this June. The training program prepares volunteers to lead activities and tours at the Laguna Environmental Center and to share their love of the Laguna with diverse audiences. The training is focused on the natural and cultural history of the Laguna and how to create dynamic visitor experiences for all ages. Guides also lead public walks on the Laguna Trail and help manage Great Blue Heron Hall during public education classes and special events. The Laguna Guides experience is fun and rewarding!

    Jack London State Historic Park Exploration 6.15.13

    Join LandPaths & Bill and Dave Hikes for a tour of the beautiful Sonoma Mountain. We’ll visit some of the existing structures of Jack London's Beauty Ranch, followed by a stop at Jack’s Lake and Bathhouse. Then we'll follow the Mountain Trail up to the Park summit to the top of Sonoma Mountain, where we'll enjoy a spectacular lunch view.

    When: Saturday June 15 at 9:45AM

    Where: At the upper parking lot (to the right just beyond the kiosk) at Jack London State Historic Park.


    What to bring: Wear sturdy hiking shoes and layered clothing, and bring lunch with lots of liquids.
    Please note that we hike rain or shine and that there is a parking fee.

    Note: This strenuous hike of 8.5 miles will take approximately six hours round trip and will have an elevation gain of 1900 feet.

    Tales From Antarctica - Presentation at The Laguna Foundation

    Sune Tamm, a specialist in extreme wilderness survival, and climate scientist Carl Mears will present photos and stories of Antarctica. They will share the magnificent beauty of the continent and their love for this incredible place. They will convey the honest truth about the impacts of climate change on Antarctica and what its fate means to all of our lives.

    Sune Tamm has guided expeditions of scientists across more than a thousand miles of Antarctica. Climate Protection Campaign board member Carl Mears is a member of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change and one of the world's foremost experts on temperature data. Beautiful pictures. Fascinating tales. Inspiration and understanding. Please join us for this special event. Proceeds benefit both the Climate Protection Campaign and the Laguna Foundation.
