    Numina Center ~ Sacred Yoga/Sacred Space ~ Live music on Solstice!

    We are very happy to announce that on June 20th, Solstice 2012, we will again have *Live Music* for Sacred Yoga ~ Sacred Space! Are are pleased to bring Numina Board member Benjamin Mertz. He is trained in Jazz, African and Classical music. His sensitive touch, sound and rhythm will surely bring a unique life and vitality to our yoga practice.

    Please tell your friends! Bring your own mat. Come early, bring water if needed.
    Yoga starts at 5:30PM. This is a 1-hour class taught by Shannon Donovan of Thrive Yoga in Sebastopol. Come celebrate the Spirit of the Solstice! This is a FREE Numina event! Donations are accepted, but they are not required.

    Where: The Church of the Incarnation, a beautiful old redwood church in downtown Santa Rosa at 550 Mendocino Ave. Please enter through the Cherry Street entrance.

    CERES Tea & Talk: Stress, Burnout & Exhaustion--a Path to Recovery for Caregivers

    Join us for our June Tea & Talk with Angela White on this important topic.

    Compassion is not only critical but pivotal to care giving. When caregivers become depleted and exhausted, they themselves are in critical need of self-compassion. Learn the early signs and stages of stress, exhaustion and burnout, the importance of self-compassion, and nutrition’s role in recovery.

    Angela White is a graduate of Bauman College’s Nutrition Educator program. With 25 years of experience as a caregiver, she brings a deep understanding of the progression of illness, exhaustion, and burnout to her work.

    About Alicia Mutch:

    Alicia is a Certified Hypnotherapist in the state of California, and helps clients quit smoking, lose weight, end unproductive habits, break through their limitations and become the people they've always known themselves to be. She received her original hypnotherapist training in 1998 from the Institute for Therapeutic Learning in Seattle, and she received additional hypnotherapy training in the Transformational Healing Method from the Center for Healing and Transformation in Oakland in 2005. She acquired her master hypnotist certificate from the Hypnotherapy Training Institute in Corte Madera in September of 2010. She is certified by the American Council of Hypnotist Examiners as well as by the National Guild of Hypnotists. She holds a bachelor's degree in English from UC Davis.

    Laughter Yoga is a unique health craze sweeping the world that was developed by medical doctor from India named Madan Kataria. To get the scientifically proven health benefits from laughter it must be extended for 15 to 20 minutes. Natural laughter is conditioned and usually lasts for just a few seconds. Through laughter yoga one can laugh heartily for an extended period because it does not rely on humor, jokes or comedy. Laughter is simulated as a body exercise in a group, with eye contact and childlike playfulness it becomes genuine spontaneous contagious laughter.

    Monnet is a Master Laughter Trainer. She first studied with Dr. Kataria in 2007. She recently returned from India where she spent 3 weeks at the International Laughter Yoga Headquarters in Bangalore. Her passion is bringing more joy and laughter to the world.
