The Mystical Icon: a course in gilding and egg tempera painting

Icons are images of the divine and are found in all cultures throughout time. The archetypal stories and characters they represent find a deep reflection in our consciousness and open the doors of our perceptions. Participants work in a quiet atmosphere, developing their own icon and learning the little know techniques of gilding and egg tempera painting, the traditional medium of iconographers. No prior art experience is necessary.

We have limited space so this will be a very small class. Early registration is recommended.

    Teacher: Christopher Castle
    Dates: January 16th-20th
    Time; Ten 3-hour sessions: Monday - Friday. 10am - 4pm.

Meganwind Eoyang came to the study of Nonviolent Communication from a very different world. She grew up fighting in gang wars on the south side of Chicago. Her longing for sweet, deep connection with fellow humans arose after first finding safety and meaning in nature. She was excited to discover that Nonviolent Communication offers clear steps for practicing the compassion, self love, and love for others which her Chinese, European and North American (and other) spiritual traditions invite us to live. She has been a staff trainer with Bay Area Nonviolent Communication since 2004.
