Creating Sustainable Culture through Cooperation
Sept. 23-25, 2011
This three day conference produced by the Fellowship for Intentional Community, is a unique opportunity for people and organizations to network for sustainability based on the values and practices of living in cooperative culture as a cornerstone of creating resilient communities.
The celebration takes place Friday through Sunday at Westminster Woods, a retreat facility in Occidental CA, about 70 miles north of San Francisco, nestled into the beautiful coastal redwoods.
Participants will include members of many types of intentional communities (ecovillages, cohousing, urban coop houses, student coops, etc.), community seekers, students, community organizers, and people interested in the basic principles of living more cooperatively.

We will take a heroine's journey together, using insights from Jungian psychology, mythology, and several spiritual traditions to awaken and deepen our feminine selves. We will explore the "inner woman" as depicted by the four elements of the ancients present in every woman: fire, earth, air, and water. The "inner male" will also be discussed as we discover how he can support or work against us.
The myth of Saint Barbara and Rapunzel will be our guiding story, invoking powerful images of The Tower from the Waite Tarot deck and from the World Trade Center Towers for personal and cultural reflection. The format will include: lesson, discussion, meditation, creative expression, and the opportunity to connect with others on a shared path.
In this workshop you will learn how to:
- Deepen your own feminine journey
- Awaken more fully to the male & female within you
- Discover where you have accepted limitation
- Free yourself from the tower of imprisonment
- Create a new myth or belief about yourself
- Transform your life through your new insights
- Help change the collective story
