    Wretch Like Me is the true story of journalist David Templeton’s outrageous adolescence as a “raging” teenage fundamentalist Christian. Starting with Templeton’s colorful but chaotic, roller-coaster childhood in Southern California in the 1960’s, WLM moves on through his pre-adolescent Christian conversion in the early 1970’s and into his high-school years, when he grew his hair long, donned a pair of overalls and became a full-fledged Jesus Freak.
