Redwood Writers presents Poetry Workshop. Create and polish your poetry with celebrated poets, Gwynn O'Gara and Arthur Dawson, Saturday, March 12th, 1-5 pm at the Flamingo Hotel Garden Room, 2777 Fourth St. Santa Rosa, Ca. 95405 (707-523-4745). Create and Polish your Poetry
Write new poems with veteran poetry teachers Gwynn O’Gara and Arthur Dawson. In the first hour writers will join either Gwynn O’Gara or Arthur Dawson to explore unexpected poetry paths. In the second hour participants will switch instructors. In the late afternoon, participants will share their poems and learn effective editing techniques to make their poems sing.

Workshop Instructors
Gwynn O’Gara is the current Sonoma County Poet Laureate, 2009-2011. Gwynn is a Sebastopol poet known for her collaboration of natural imagery and the exploration of interpersonal relationships through poetry. She is the author of Snake Woman Poems, Fixer Upper and Winter at Green Haven. O’Gara has worked with adults students through the Writing Sampler, sponsored by the Sebastopol Center for the Arts. She currently teaches creative writing through the Sitting Room and California Poets in the Schools.
Arthur Dawson is the author of two best sellers. The Stories Behind Sonoma Valley Names and On Foot in Sonoma , both (Kulupi Press), as well as two poetry collections, Saying this Place Right,( Finishing Line Press)
and Western Scenes from Chinese Characters, (DPress). Arthur is also the publisher of Kulupi Press, dedicated to” publications with a sense of place”. Arthur has been teaching with California Poets in the Schools since 1991.
