The Funk Marathon Benefit Dance-A-Thon and Community Dance Party at Aubergine!

Get down for a good cause!

The Funk Marathon is at Aubergine in Sebastopol on Sunday, October 9th from 3-10 pm with awards at 10 and cooldown till 12.
It's all ages! (Kids Finish and Awards at 6pm)
$8 cover ($5 for signed up Marathon Dancers plus a t-shirt etc)

All proceeds from the Funk marathon will go to the Ceres Community Project (ceresproject.org).

Come shake your booty to the area's best DJs spinning all funk vinyl, all day and all evening!
If you really want to get involved and help even more (and have even more fun), sign up to be in the Dance-A-Thon!

In a Dance-A-Thon volunteer dancers (YOU) ask their friends, family, and or local business' to sponsor them to dance for as long as they can. The longer that they can dance the more money that they raise for the cause.

    ----

    HOW IT WORKS:

TO SIGN UP TO DANCE SPONSOR OR VOLUNTEER at The Funk Marathon (or for more info) GO TO THEFUNKMARATHON.ORG.

Please sign up as soon as possible so that we can order t-shirts etc. (Also, It may take up to 24 hours for newly signed up dancers to be available to sponsor through the website).

Dancers get sponsored by the " Funk Marathon Mile". 15 minutes of dancing equals one Funk Marathon Mile.

If a friend sponsored you at a rate of $1 a "mile" and you danced for 2 hours totaling 8 "miles" then they would donate $8 to Ceres Community Project.

Once a dancer has signed up on the website, sponsors can sponsor them through the website (thefunkmarathon.org).

Dancers can also get forms to record sponsors info and sponsorship amounts at Aubergine in Sebastopol, The Last Record Store in Santa Rosa or Aqus Cafe in Petaluma. The form can also be downloaded/printed from thefunkmarathon.org.

On the day of the event, dancers willl receive a timecard that they can use to clock in and clock out of the dance floor.

After the event we will send sponsors an email with a suggested donation amount based on "miles" danced and a link to donate directly to Ceres through Paypal.

    It's that easy to help!

If you don't want to be an official Marathoner then come down and get your groove on on the dance floor and/or cheer on your favorite Marathoners!

    The Independent Eye's Frankenstein

    The Independent Eye's Frankenstein

Oct. 7-30, Fridays & Saturdays at 8 pm, Sundays at 2 pm. at 6th St. Playhouse, Santa Rosa, CA.
    All Seats - $20
For reservations, phone (707) 523-4185 or click here. [[http://www.6thstreetplayhouse.com/index.php?id=908]]
It's all things to all people. A prototype of the sci-fi genre. An object of parody. A scare story of science run rampant. A myth of mankind's betrayal by its Creator. For Mary Shelley, monsters are made, not born, and Victor's obsessive denial of death and flight from his handiwork spring from very deep roots in our present moment. Sebastopol's Independent Eye -- thirty-year veterans of national touring and creators of last year's astonishing rendition of Shakespeare's The Tempest -- offers a new vision of Shelley's classic novel, with a trio of actors, plus three dozen puppets, poetry, and a startling world of sound and image.
