The Forgiveness Creed

To Forgive is to “be” Divine.

“To err is human.”

~~ ~

From the ancient Latin proverb

“Errare humanum est.”

“To err is human; to forgive, divine.”

~ Alexander Pope (1688-1744)

~~ ~

If one “Believes” Forgiveness is possible, then “One is Divine.”

Forgiveness does not absolve others from their crimes / sins,

But rather, Forgiveness prevents you

from carrying their (baggage of guilt) along with you on your Journey.

We can "Practice Forgiveness" “pro-actively” by the following 4 methods:

Instantaneous Forgiveness:

Forgive right now, immediately in the moment, (repeatedly / instantly).

Pre-Forgiveness:

Forgiveness is applied beforehand.

(From learned past behaviors and experiences)

Post-Forgiveness:

Forgiveness is applied after the incident has occurred.

(To clear one’s conscious from entertaining any associated-guilt or confusing thoughts.)

And, in equal measure, if one has offended others,

Then offer your Forgiveness instantly.

“I’m Sorry. Please Forgive Me.”

Forgiveness is the Greatest Healing Medicine anyone can give.

A “Clear Conscious” is the goal here for one’s own Peace of Mind.

If one “Believes” Forgiveness is possible, then one’s Spirit is “Humanly Divine.”

And sometimes we need to forgive ourselves first and then allow for the process of forgiveness towards others to occur through our willingness to release them from the harm they have done to us....definitely liberating... but the understanding of why we need to continue to attach ourselves to their actions is an amazing awareness too. So much has to do with protection of ourselves, not always guilt. And when we see it through the Divine, then we can truly release the other or situation in what it taught us, those lessons that can now be applied separate from who and what hurt us. And compassion can even be available in seeing all the players complete their roles because we view/experience it differently. That doesn't mean we throw away the boundaries...just the barriers that blocked our own burden.

So true, sharingwisdom. This "Forgiveness Concept" seems to be such a foreign idea to many people when I mention it to them that they can't conceive that doing this is within their own human power.
