My landlord is the CEO of MOTHER non-profit, and received a bill for $150, about 2 weeks ago, from the Corporate Compliance Center in Sacramento. He's been sitting on it, waiting til closer to the deadline of 8/31 to pay it.
Tonight he showed me the official looking paperwork, that also had a disclaimer at the very bottom which basically said that it wasn't from the government. This alerted him to the fact that it might be a scam. I looked it up, and found that it is, so I wanted to warn other people about this ongoing scam.
If you know anyone who has a non-profit who may not be a regular Wacco reader, please let them know about this.
"A sixth Annual Minutes Compliance Notice scam is being sent from an entity called Corporate Compliance Center. There are two additional scams that ask recipients to fill out a "Certificate of Status Request Form."
