Sugar Dipper

The Big Dipper, sugared with stars
Tips toward my open mouth,
My neck arched for catching
Sprays of stellar treats.
Had I wings, I would rise on
Earth’s pressed air
To touch the silvered handle
And dip the ebony bowl of sky.
