When eight former heads of the Drug Enforcement Administration co-sign a letter to Attorney General Eric Holder, demanding that he block Washington's and Colorado's marijuana legalization laws from being implemented, we need to respond!
It's obvious why they sent that letter. They know that Americans are turning their backs on the failed drug war policies these former DEA directors once championed. Their legacy is at stake, threatened by the will of American voters, and they don't like that.
That's why I need your help now. Attorney General Holder could issue his new policy regarding Washington and Colorado any day now. It's ultimately a political decision. We need to let him know that Americans all around the country want him to give those two states a chance to implement their historic laws.
We've hit the tipping point on marijuana legalization. Just last week, a new Pew poll found that a majority of Americans supports legalizing marijuana. Sixty percent think the federal government shouldn't interfere with state legalization. That's why what happens in Colorado and Washington is so important what they do there will shape the future of reform in this country.
The drug war apologists, including these ex-DEA directors, are in the minority. Write Attorney General Holder today and demand that he respect states' marijuana legalization laws!
