need advice for buying hi end videocamera

    I am upgrading to a 3 colorchipdigital (3ccd) videocamera. I have a budget of around $3500.

There is a lot out there.
If you have expertise in this area, I'd love to talk with you.

I will be filming documentaries. Also need a few good external microphones.

    Any advice, info is apprecaited.

You might want to talk to the folks at the Comunity Media Center in Santa Rosa. They exist mostly to serve Santa Rosa, but they may be willing to help you with advice. I know thier cameras are 3 chip and they have an extensive mic and assesories collection. Their on Mendocino next to the high school. You should be able to get them if you google them also.

I took classes there a while ago.
