AB 1148, the California DISCLOSE Act, to be voted on by full Assembly this Tuesday!

The movement for the groundbreaking California DISCLOSE Act - to require that political ads show who really pays for them - is expanding at an ever-increasing rate!

Just this week, the city councils of Los Angeles, San Jose, and Santa Cruz all unanimously voted to endorse AB 1148.
And thanks to the efforts of California Clean Money Campaign volunteers in their districts, there are now 34 co-authors in the State Assembly, including Assembly Speaker John Pérez.

Ten newspapers from around the state have already joined in with a chorus of editorials in favor of AB 1148, with headlines like "Keep political ads accountable" (Los Angeles Daily News), "Shining a light on political ads" (San Bernardino Sun), "Let California voters follow the money" (San Jose Mercury News), and "Telling the truth about sources of campaign cash" (Ventura County Star).

But opposition is also growing from groups representing the biggest corporate special interests in the state - interests that want to continue being able to hide from voters when they pay for political ads.
