I was down the street from the Sebastopol Library in June at the stop sign . A Sebastopol Police Officer was at an adjacent corner, I stopped and then turned left in front of him ( he was parked at the corner)... he then pulled me over a mile away and said I didn't stop long enough... had a bizarre line of questioning and wrote me a stop sign ticket and included I didn't have insurance ... I had given him my valid insurance. When I asked him why he wrote I had n insurance he said he wrote that on the ticket but didn't site me for it. I have an excellent driving record, I soon after got the "courtesy notice" which said I could pay 300 plus dollars with some additional to attend traffic school. Last week I went to court and pled not guilty and was issued a court date in November. With no witness I feel its a slam dunk for the cop. I asked the officer what kind of revenue the dept gets as a result of the ticket and he said one dollar. Im quite certain thats not the case, I dont have the name of the officer, only an ID number... I want to fight it on principal...Any help I can get on the issue would be much appreciated!!!
