Hi, Waccsters. Since the murder of Troy Davis by the state of Georgia a few days ago (is that really all it's been?), there has been the beginning of a ground swell, heartily endorsed by Michael Moore, to boycott Georgia and its products. Possibly the best-known of these products is Coca-Cola, born and raised in Atlanta. Considering that Coca-Cola is exemplary of the mega-corporations that are helping to screw up the lives of so many of us, doesn't it seem logical to boycott Coca-Cola? Let's start a ground swell!
Just a few minutes of Coca-Cola research gave me a number of other products that are part of the Coca-Cola empire, including:
Minute Maid
Powerade
Nestea
Fruitopia
Dasani Water
Alhambra Water
Barq's Rootbeer
Fresca
and I'm sure you clever Waccomaths can find others.
"American Idol" on the Fox Network is sponsored by Coca-Cola (not that anyone in the West County watches that show), but Coca-Cola also sponsors Charlie Rose on NPR. Do we stop listening to Charlie until he drops Coke?
Also, one of Coca-Cola largest shareholders is Berkshire Hathaway, owned by Warren Buffett. Hopefully, Warren will make sure that Coca-Cola is paying reasonable taxes.
So pour that stuff down the drain!
