Fabulous desert festival put on by a great crew of big-hearted music lovers in its fourth year. Friday through Sunday work nine hours total (will take more if you got it to give, of course) and get your admission and camping covered! May 28-29 – Carnaval San Franciscowww.carnavalsf.com HUGE street fair, eight blocks of Mission Street, 300,000 people, nutty greening just aims to divert recycling from the trash and launching compost program for the first time this year! Some paid positions, unlimited volunteer positions. Everyone’s on the green team, no more enabling the average party-goer.
One of the city's most spectacular traditions, Carnaval San Francisco showcases the very best of Latin American and Caribbean cultures and traditions with a diverse array of food, music, dance and artistry, including works created by the talented community of Mission District residents and Bay Area artists.


June 9-11 – Harmony Festival, Sonoma County Fairgrounds. Featuring the Second Annual North Bay Music Awards, five acres of over-the-top sounds, sites and delights for all the senses. Outrageous nighttime parties, on-site camping for the first time ever. 30,000 people over three days, 500 vendors, too much fun, tons of greening opportunities.
