From the International Centre For Science In Drug Policy:
An International Call for Evidence-Based Drug Policy
"Vienna, Austria – June 28th, 2010 marks the beginning of a global drive for signatories to the Vienna Declaration, a statement seeking to improve community health and safety by calling for the incorporation of scientific evidence into illicit drug policies. This drive is lead by the ICSDP, International AIDS Society, and BC Centre for Excellence in HIV/AIDS to coincide with the International AIDS Conference taking place in Vienna, Austria from 18 to 23 July 2010.
We are encouraging all our supporters and their affiliate organizations to endorse the declaration and to invite friends, colleagues, scientists, health practitioners, policy-makers, and celebrities to also join the call.
Together we will bring these issues to the attention of governments and international agencies, and illustrate clearly that drug policy reform is a matter of urgent international significance.
Show your support for drug policy based on science, not ideology, visit www.viennadeclaration.com and sign the Declaration today. "
They even have a snazzy video/Powerpoint presentation (I turned the sound down, as it seemed to distract from the message):
