On Saturday, June 12, 2010, Sonoma County Animal Care and Control, (SCACC), will be holding a free cat spay and neuter clinic for all cats two months and older. The shelter is located at 1247 Century Court, Santa Rosa, CA 95403. This event is an example of SCACC’s efforts to end the cat overpopulation problem within Sonoma County.

Every spring, thousands of cats and kittens enter animal shelters throughout Sonoma County. Even with significant efforts made by staff and volunteers of these shelters, homes cannot be found for all of the cats.

Cat owners are encouraged to take advantage of this great opportunity to have their cats altered for free. Along with the free surgery, cats will receive free vaccinations and microchips courtesy of VIP Petcare Services. You must call 565-7100 to schedule an appointment, space is limited.

The animal shelter is open Tuesday-Saturday, noon to 5:30 pm. All transactions stop at 4:30 pm. Sonoma County Animal Care & Control enforces local, state, and federal laws pertaining to animals and operates a full-service animal shelter serving over 5,000 animals annually.
