It's a weird planet, this Yentz, and its inhabitants do things that are hard for me to understand. They enter dark interiors, social gathering places, and then fold their bodies so that they balance a rear hemispherical section which lies midway between longitudinal parameters on a wooden platform, so that it flattens and supports them. Then they ingest a brown fluid concocted from a pea-sized, once-green arboreal agricultural product which is churned, paddled, and steamed until brown and shiny, and then ground into a powder by means of sharp ore-alloy blades revolving within a container at a dizzying rate of speed.
A commonly occuring hydrogen-oxygen mixture is then heated until it's on the verge of changing from a liquid to a gaseous state and then the brown powder is infused with it and soon yields an aromatic dark fluid. An exchange takes place where rectangles of flattened woody fibers with renderings of expired inhabitants are traded for quantities of this brown liquid. Portioned out in containers of glazed and heated clay, the fluid is poured into the inhabitants' oral cavities, sometimes resulting in increased animation and vocalizations. Sometimes these vocalizations take on a certain rhythm or pattern, and are accompanied by ore-based strings stretched taut and plucked, or the skins of dead creatures stretched over a rigid frame and beaten.
It's all very intriguing, this Yentzian behavior, and I can't help but ask myself, "are they having glipz yet?"
