Rohnert Park Animal Shelter needs "geek"

We need some help with:

Computerizing– Know a computer “geek” who has some time on his/her hands? We are in the process of computerizing the shelter! This is exciting, and a little scary. It will take a little time until all staff is trained on the new program and we have it running smoothly.

The theory is that we will do all adoptions, redemptions, owner surrenders, etc. on the computer although since we still need signatures we aren’t going to be totally paperless – yet. The program we’re getting is called Paw Trax (access based) and although our IT guys are helping with the migration it would be great if we could get a computer savvy volunteer (not a programmer so much as someone really knowledgeable with transition who could help us get trained and up and running) to help us out.

Canopies we will need LOTS of the pop-up type canopies for the Mutt Strut since it will be (hopefully) sunny and warm on May 22. Do you have one or two that we can borrow for that day? Please let Cheryll Currier know, 523-9420.

Rescue Animal Postage Stamps-

Starting April 30 the US Postal Service will have available their new “Animal Rescue: Adopt A Shelter Pet” first class stamps. This series of 10 beautiful animal photos - 5 dogs and 5 cats that were adopted from a shelter with the tag line “Animal Rescue: Adopt a Shelter Pet” - will help build awareness of the wonderful animals awaiting adoption at shelters everywhere. You can go to www.stampstotherescue.com to place a pre-order, which might be a good idea considering how cute these stamps are, and to shop their other Animal Rescue paraphernalia (certificates, commemorative stamps, mugs and coasters, etc.).
