    Important Workshop this Saturday

    Important Community Workshop This Saturday

What: A community workshop on the Northeast Area Specific Plan

    Church, 1000 Gravenstein Highway North

What: The workshop will include information on existing conditions, key planning and environmental issues, opportunity to ask questions of the consultant team, and discussion of visions for the area. There will also be an optional walking tour.

Why: The Northeast Area, roughly bounded by Sebastopol Avenue, Petaluma Avenue, Laguna Park Way, and Morris Street, is the subject of a major planning effort to create a Specific Plan that will guide the future of the area and address such issues as land use, new streets, flooding, and urban design. This is one of the most important Sebastopol planning efforts of recent years. The City Council is asking for community input to help set the plan for the future of the area.

    Lunch will be provided.

Although not sponsored by the City, childcare during the workshop is available at Kidspot at 6826 Sebastopol Avenue. Reservations are required by March 29. Please contact Paloma Engel at Kidspot, 823-5432 to make a reservation and get cost information.

The next Northeast Plan community workshop will be on May 6, 10 a.m. at Brook Haven Schoolgym, located at 7905 Valentine Avenue. This workshop will focus on design issues.

Numerous reports about the Northeast Area planning effort can be found on the Planning Department page of the City web site, located at www.ci.sebastopol.ca.us. We recommend you check the web site periodically for updates and new reports.

For more information or to get on the City’s mailing list, contact the Sebastopol Planning Department at 823-6167.
