I'm more inclined to think fear is our only enemy.
Fear leads to all the rest of mankind's maddening behavior.
As for whether we are going too fast or too slow...since I have no real understanding of evolution, let alone it's intended purpose (the big picture ?)
I can only go with the idea that perhaps everything is in perfect order despite the daily disappearance of things familiar (and vital to a sustained existence of life here on earth as we know it).
