Would like to see if anyone out there has an effective deterrent for a cat using our new raised bed vegetable garden as a litter box. Murder is not an option. Thanks, George.

Steve,
I saw a black cat in the Safeway parking lot in Guerneville last night. I think it may have had a little white on its paw also, but I didn't get a very close look.
I wish I had read the post earlier...!

A lot of cats love garlic, so I wouldn't try that, but I read recently that cayenne pepper will keep raccoons away, so I'd think about that for cats too since they like to sniff before the dig.
Good luck,

They make this very interesting strip of mesh that gives a static shock when an animal steps on it. I have seen it used to keep animals off furnature as well as deterring dogs from jumping fences... I would imagine it would do wonders for a curious cat.
