Dear Newsweek Editors,
Both of your cover "Star Trek" articles miss the main point: family. People long for human connection, and find it in the various "Star Trek" episodes. Such interesting, multi-cultural families. This is what I teach my psychology students at Sonoma State University. The words on your cover "To Boldly Go..." excited me, but the articles disappointed me. You promise a "Summer Movie Review," but do not deliver. I continue to watch "Star Trek" regularly, especially when I need a boost. It has become my virtual family. No, I'm not a "Trekkie"--what an insulting put-down. I am a "Trekker." There is a difference. I am proud that my family has "taught us to dream big." Thanks for at least giving attention to our large family. Our next family reunion of millions starts next month and may continue for decades. I already have my ticket.
Live long, and prosper,
