Bovines Appropriate Local FM Station
In a surprise move which has turned the broadcast industry on end and stunned the peaceful community of Occidental, Bovines not of this Earth have apparently taken over radio station 107.3 FM!
Perhaps taking the station's call letters (KOWS) as an open invitation to moove in, Herefords, Ayreshires and Holsteins, and a militant cadre of Black Angus descended upon the sleepy village sometime last week, cowmandeering the broadcasting equipment and overpowering station volunteers (mostly vegans), who put up little if any resistance.
Bolstered by the success of similar takeovers in Punjabi villages such as Lottapoor and Cookandeatacat, the bellicose bovines proved adept at operating broadcasting equipment despite their ungainly hooves.
. "We herd it was a Low power station and we low all the time" said spokescow Estelle Flanken, who has cousins living in San Francisco's Tenderloin district. "We're heavily into Marvin Gaye and the Temptations added Mootown-lover, Patti Meadows (a pure-blooded Angus), but we love all kinds of moosic - "We hope you don't have a beef with that", she added.
Many of the invaders are planning on distributing copies of Upton Sinclair's 1906 novel, "The Jungle", and a quintet of a cowpella singers who call themselves "The Slaughterhouse Five" plan on giving a free concert in front of Occidental's Howard Station restaurant, (which recently adopted a new vegetarian menu), in hopes of mollifying KOWS displaced volunteers.
Station manager Phil ("Kishke") Tymon. later reached at his room at the Porter House Lodge, refusing to comment until he finished his tri tip sandwich, later stated "It appears to be a case of Clo's Encownters of an Udder Kind", quickly adding "If you want to avoid another barn-burner, You better stay tuned in."
