Volunteers to Clothe Very Small People

    Friends—

A call for the impossible, with faith in West County Providence.

The Independent Eye’s newest performance project, The Mythic Kitchen, is gearing up for production of some short puppet pieces in Dec/Jan, and for a major production, The Descent of Inanna, in May. We have a bunch of very gifted artists involved, but we have a serious need.

Puppets are pretty uninhibited, but they’re not necessarily nudists. We need costumers. Either to collaborate in design, or simply to sew. Very challenging, exciting stuff: the size of the puppets (about 3 ft high) makes the costumes of great importance, yet it’s possible to do fabulous things out of very little yardage.

We can’t afford to hire a costumer or pay a seamstress — working on heavy fundraising right now, but the costs of materials, equipment & facilities will squeeze us tight. So we’re looking for people who can contribute a lot of time or a little, and who’d just like to be on the inside of some tremendously vital theatre work.

Email [email protected] if you’d like to know more.

    Peace & joy—

I don't have a sewing machine or the space to set one up. What I have is the ability to create a costume from a drawing.
If someone, in the city of Santa Rosa, has a sewing machine and space (a good sized table) where I can work, perhaps I can help.
