Re: Illegal Immigrants And The March

hello, did you choose to write this post in this font? It's impossible to read on the digest. Not even worth the time to try to squint to see what it could be. Please be aware that small font sizes are impossible to read. So are paragraphs in yellow green pink orange etc. So are all caps. Why try to add "glaze" to your words. Just use a readable font. PLEASE

Oh now Lovely Lorrie; you do know that money is about as useless as tits on a bullfrog, don’t you? Are tax dollars at work, would be much better spent raising love little children from any country, than to be spent on bombs or shooting people in the head with high powered rifles the way they are doing it now in different countries around the world? LOL! Don’t worry so much about our tax dollars we have no control over! Lets spend a little on cookies!!!

There's a wonderful book by Susan Straight that's relevant to this discussion: "Highwire Moon". NYTimes Book Review said "An eye-opener of a novel, a road map to the real California. Straight turns headlines into poetry,"

In Sunday's Chronicle, this article is mostly about Africans illegally immigrating to Spain, but certainly applies here as well: see it at sfgate.com

    GLOBALIZATION COMES FULL CIRCLE

Illegal immigration from Africa repeats a cycle that began with early humans following their food supply to other continents

Re: Illegal Immigrants And The March

I am a legal immigrant. Yes, years ago you were required to have an American sponsor in order to guarantee someone, not the taxpayers, covered your expenses should you not be able to find work or were in need of financial help. Even with a sponsor, it took around two years to get our visas. Back in those days IBM was a top notch company to work for and my father had a job in their World Trade Department within two weeks. I can just imagine the outcry these days at this one requirement: IBM hired you on a Green Card, but if you did not take on American Citizenship as soon as elligible, they let you go. My father considered this a fair requirement. He also did not expect that the school system would teach me in French. It was perfectly reasonable to him that I go to school and learn through English Immersion........I did....within three months. I don't care if you're from Mexico, South America, Canada, France, England..........Illegal is Illegal.....I had to learn English.....live and work here, you need to learn learn English. I do not believe in Bi-lingual education, it's unfair. Those who are from France, Italy, Holland, African countries, etc....don't get it. English for Foreigners, yes. I also feel that I learned English much better as a result of the immersion. My English grades were very high through my entire education including college.

My family put in time and effort to enter legally, we worked hard to make it here and considered taking on Citizenship a way to take our responsibilities for what we were getting. (Jury Duty, Voting, etc.) Sorry, I think all who want to live here need to do it the legal way. "ILLEGAL Immigrants rights" is somewhat of an oxymoron.

As for the idea that a guest worker program would improve wages, etc. It won't, if that got done, citizens and legal immigrants would take those jobs. The idea is to have a cheap labor pool with no benefits to keep prices down and profits up. Yes, I'm willing to pay more for tomatoes, just I buy less stuff and refuse to patronize WallMart. A work visa system I could back, if it were actually enforced.

Re: Illegal Immigrants And The March

people keep on saying that Latinos should come here legally.
that is a fun slogan, but what does that mean???
they can't come here legally, for one their country does not supply passports to the poor on demand like they do here, for two if they did get a passport miraculously the US would not give them a visa to get here, unless they are able to post a bond. catch 22
now Christine if they were allowed to follow your father's example, they could get in, because they do have jobs waiting for them, but since they are considered menial, the people are treated likewise.
I agree with you on the language part, except that most Latinos don't come here to stay, but only to work here temporarily and feel no need to learn the language since they can be deported any day
the reality is that Latinos have no rights or benefits, but DO pay taxes every time they spend money and every time they get a pay check. I personally know of several Mexicans who pay income tax to the IRS even though they will never see any return for their efforts.
The IRS has never refused their money or claimed that it was illegal!
The real issue is that we are not a democracy but a capitalist society, and the rule of supply and demand is used both by employers and our brave and hardworking neighbours.
the only thing illegal in capitalism is socialism, not honest workmanship!

That's ridiculous. The American is the person who contributes to our society, not hides in the dark and drains it like a mosquito. The American is someone willing to become a citizen and pay taxes like other Americans, not someone who sneaks in, hides, uses the Emergency Room like it's their personal doctor, makes American citizens foot the bill and sends all their own money back to Mexico.

Re: Illegal Immigrants And The March

Waccobb is not a likely place to find people who think like you and I do, but nevertheless, I thank you for speaking your mind.

I am married to an immigrant and I am her sponsor. It took me 2 1/2 years to get her into the country, because the government is so inept.

The reception you have received so far in this forum is typical for waccobb. You have been mocked prior to this post, by people who have no concern for their own country. There is nothing you can do but keep telling the truth and persevere. You will be ripped apart by people who get their power by ripping others apart and there's nothing you can do to stop that. Just tell the truth anyway.

I was at the Illegal Alien and Communist march on Thursday, and I shot a lot of video of it. Some Hispanic man that I don't know and never did anything to said to me, "Hey, I'm illegal, you fucking cracker piece of shit." While I was talking to the African-American Congressional candidate I am supporting, a White woman who doesn't even know me yelled "racist" at me over and over. I told her I'm married to an immigrant from The Philippines, but she kept on screaming RACIST at me.

Here are the four main vids I shot on Thursday:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_iWMJMN3Jl8
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AyR_uvs5uU0
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rAz-mzMksnk
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qsW_UTJrivM

You can see all 4 vids at once on my blog at https://reportanddeport.wordpress.com . Also, you will see actual stories of rapes and murders committed by illegal aliens.

Don't think you are alone, for you are not. What you are is RARE, for COURAGE is rare.

I debated with myself as to whether I wanted to do this posting or not. I know it may create hard feelings by some but this is something I feel I must do or I will have only myself to blame for any problems arising if the illegal immigrants are allowed to stay for any amount of time.

I am considered a SENIOR. During my life I have met people from all over the world. THIS IS WHAT MAKES THIS COUNTRY great. RIGHT NOW, there are probably thousands of people from countries AROUND THE WORLD who have gone through LEGAL PROCEEDINGS to come to this country. In most cases, there are fairly long waiting periods. I don't know if this is still true or not but I believe that it was required of the prospective immigrant to have an AMERICAN SPONSOR and a job awaiting them when they arrived in the USA. As I said, I am not sur if this is true or how long that condition was a factor in coming to the USA.

Most of the people who came over until the Mexicans began coming in such droves ILLEGALLY, worked just as hard as any Mexican, and perhaps harder. They also worked to learn the language AND WAYS, AND LAWS of the US.

The Mexicans I see today don't seem to have any desire to do this. They take their children to stores, all types, and NEVER TEACH THEIR CHILDREN to speak in the ENGLISH LANGUAGE. I have seen them spit on the sidewalks and streets.

The point I am trying to make is THAT IT IS UNFAIR to allow people of any country to come over here illegally and THEN BE ALLOWED to become a citizen just because they are already here. WHAT ABOUT THE PEOPLE who applied legally years ago and are still waiting???

And, again, I am not an authority on such matters but it was always my understanding that the country tried to allow a balance of immigrants from each country so all countries would be treated fairly and we would NOT BE OVERWHELMED with immigrants from one country.

I know a lot of people and honestly have only met one person who is for having the illegal immigrants into this country as citizens...I could go on and on about the costs to the country but it has been pointed out in so many other avenues I don't think I need to do so here. If you read or listen to the radio or TV at all, you have heard all the reasons why I and many, many others feel as I do.

AND, LAST BUT NOT LEAST, I AM WONDERING THIS: where in the world are the people who feel as I do. The media does not do much publicizing about this factor of the population at all. Why???

JUST to set the record straight. I am NOT AGAINST LEGAL IMMIGRANTS FROM MEXICO. ONLY THOSE WHO COME OVER HERE IGNORING ALL THE COUNTRIES RULES.

AND FINALLY, WHY, if they can get up so much steam to DEMONSTRATE AND PARADE here in the US for their SO-CALLED RIGHTS, WHY DIDN'T THEY DO IT IN THEIR OWN COUNTRY and work there to make things better so they would not have to leave the country??????

You're still required by law to have a sponsor, if you want to get an immigrant visa. It's called an I-864, Affidavit of Support.

But as long as people are more afraid of being called a "racist" than they are afraid of being victimized by an illegal alien, an illegal employer or their own government, then they will keep being victimized by an illegal alien, illegal employer or their own government.
