One good thing about this aggressive, belligerent, lying hypocrite's nomination - and the insistence of the ubersleazebag Repugs to not withdraw but continue to want him on the Supreme Court - is to roust women and decent men before the upcoming elections. Highly unlikely that we'll move from Dems to Greens in my my lifetime, so that'd be some improvement. Jude

Georgetown Prep
, the private Catholic High School that Brett Kavanaugh attended, has withdrawn its endorsement for his nomination to the Supreme Court.
So has the magazine of the Jesuit religious order of the United States, America Magazine, withdrawn its endorsement of Judge Kavanaugh.
Dr. Bandy Lee, Forensic Psychiatrist at the Yale School of Medicine, who leads the National Coalition of Concerned Mental Health Experts, along with many of its members, have sent a letter to all U.S. senators asking that a psychiatric evaluation of Judge Kavanaugh be done before holding a vote on whether to send him to the Supreme Court.
The American Bar Association, which had previously given Kavanaugh its endorsement, has now withdrawn that endorsement.
In a highly unusual move, the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) weighed in:
"As a matter of organizational policy, the ACLU does not support or oppose candidates for political or judicial office. In this instance, the national board held an extraordinary meeting, and has chosen to make an exception to that policy."
“The ACLU’s board of directors, deeply concerned by the allegations raised in recent weeks, has made a rare exception to its longstanding policy and voted to oppose the nomination of Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court,” said Susan Herman, president of the ACLU.
And, 1700+ Law Professors signed a letter sent to all U.S. senators. This is part of that letter:
"We are law professors who teach, research and write about the judicial institutions of this country. Many of us appear in state and federal court, and our work means that we will continue to do so, including before the United States Supreme Court. We regret that we feel compelled to write to you, our Senators, to provide our views that at the Senate hearings on Sept. 27, Judge Brett Kavanaugh displayed a lack of judicial temperament that would be disqualifying for any court, and certainly for elevation to the highest court of this land."

Despite this level of professional opposition to Brett Kavanaugh being given a seat on the U.S. Supreme Court, Senate Majority Leader McConnell and, perhaps, enough senators, are ready to ram through a vote for Kavanaugh with a simple majority (it used to require 60 votes) and make him a Justice. If this dishonest and politically extreme man ascends to the Supreme Court, it is yet another step in marching the United States closer to heartless and corrupt authoritarian rule.

Best wishes,
