Following is an email from my friend Philip R., who used to live full-time in Sebastopol, married a Cuban woman, and now lives mainly there. 2) TRAVEL TO THE ISLAND IS EASY / THE PERCEPTION IS OTHER
Disinformation and confusion about Cuba travel in the past two years has created the perception that travel to the island is complicated and highly restricted. The reality is, in 2015 President Obama opened up Cuba travel with new relaxed policies that are still largely in place. Legal travel to the Island is just a 3 step process:

- Search on the web for US airlines going to Havana.
- Buy your flight and select "support for the Cuban people" as your travel category.
- Purchase a travel visa through your airline.
