Discover the Magic & Mystery of
~Alcohol Inks~
Reminder: Many of my alcohol ink paintings are currently on exhibit at the Sebastopol Senior Center thru May 15. Check out the large one on the wall behind the front desk... I've donated it to them because they love it and the painting itself seems very happy there. Enjoy.
Painting with alcohol inks is a relatively new art form that is whimsical, easy, intuitive, relaxing, loose, playful, and downright fun. No art experience is necessary. Novice and experienced artists alike are encouraged to attend.
Alcohol inks are vividly colored dyes dissolved in alcohol. They are used on any non-porous surface (Synthetic paper, select photo paper, tile, plastic, ceramics, metal, glass, etc.). The inks transform and blend all on their own, magically creating a depth, movement, and brilliance not achievable with other mediums.
We will explore painting abstracts, landscapes, flowers, and various other subjects through demonstrations and individual assistance. Some of the many topics we will cover:
· techniques for working with the unpredictable nature of alcohol ink
· painting on a variety of non-absorbent surfaces, including several common household items!
· tools and materials specific to this medium
· color blending, value, composition, textures
