Rock the Congress: Uniting Progressives to Win in 2018

"Rock the Congress: North Bay" will bring together 300 leading North Bay activists to transform American politics. Our dire political situation demands that Progressives unite, collaborate, and campaign together

Our one-day conference operationalizes the age-old American principle of "E Pluribus Unum"—out of many, one—so that we can defeat Trump and his Republican enablers, and achieve our vision of a more progressive America.

"Rock the Congress: North Bay" will feature:

    1. Top-notch speakers including Representative Jared Huffman and Becky Bond, former Senior Advisor to the Bernie Sanders campaign.
    2. An operational plan for inter-organizational electoral collaboration
    3. Training sessions by Democracy Labs, activists from swing districts, and leading lights of the local Progressive movement. Workshops cover direct action, technology, messaging, media, and other.
    4. Networking opportunities with other leading activists representing at least two dozen organizations including Indivisible, OFA, MVCAN, Democracy Action, DFA, MoveOn, Our Revolution, Sister District, Swing Left, unions, issue-focused organizations, and other electorally focused groups.

Register today to guarantee your spot. Our ticket prices are on a sliding scale from $25 to $100. Please pay what you can afford to help us cover event costs. We are a 100% volunteer event put on by members of Bay Area progressive organizations and any unspent funds will be rolled over to our next event, likely "Rock the Congress: East Bay". If you cannot afford $25, please contact [email protected] for scholarship options. We do not want anybody to be unable to attend due to financial constraints.

    7:30-8:30 Check-in, coffee and networking

8:30-5:00 Conference Program including Keynotes by Rep. Jared Huffman and Becky Bond, and breakout sessions covering our interorganizational plan, local organizing, direct action, technology, media and press relations, and more.

    5:00-8:00 Afterparty/Networking

    Will there be food?
Yes. Coffee, morning/afternoon snacks, and a full boxed lunch are included in your registration. We will also have food, beer, and wine provided for the afterparty. We will send out an email soon to ask about dietary restrictions.

    Note from Barry:
My wife, aka Mrs. Wacco , is the co-organizer of this conference. The idea is to get all the North Bay activists groups to collaborate to help win back the House in 2018! Special attention will be given to how to help Red districts to flip to Blue.

I'm in charge of the afterparty/networking, so a good time will be had be all (see me if you need an extra drink ticket )

I think this will be a ground breaking conference on helping to get progressives to effectively work together and win!

If you want to get involved in fighting back against Trump and the Republicans, you want to be there!

Volunteers Needed! You can still go to a session or 2.... contact [email protected]
