Sonoma Solidarity with Standing Rock is very pleased that Chase Iron Eyes of Standing Rock is coming to SRJC! We are eager to hear him speak! Our Native American members speak highly of him. He is very passionate about Native sovereignty and connects current affairs with historical perspective. He also talks about how spiritual/cultural issues are inter-meshed with the legal/political issues. He is coming to speak about the Standing Rock Water Protectors Resistance to the Dakota Access Pipeline (DAPL).
Chase Iron Eyes is an American Indian activist, attorney, politician, and a member of the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe. He is a member of the Lakota People's Law Project and vocal opponent of Dakota Access Pipeline.
