wasp nest removal

can anyone advise me on how to remove a wasp's nest? i don't want to hurt the guys and gals. i just want them to relocate.

Squirt the nest with garden sprayer set on the jet-stream setting AT NIGHT when they are less active. Then Run! :eek: (don't worry, it will be OK ) The nest can be be knocked off the side of house, etc. pretty easily.

If the nest is in the ground, then its a different matter.

Let me add that this does not kill the wasps (even though they may wonder what hit them! ) and in my experience they did not choose to rebuild their nest in the same area.

If they're the ones that make a nest that looks like a ball or half dome comprised of lots of little holes and is suspended from a stem, they'll leave of their own accord as soon as fall is here. Otherwise wait till almost dark and scrape the nest into a can or jar w/ a lid and relocate them. Or, hose them off like the other reply suggested, but that'll leave the nest wherever it falls. They sleep at night and I've removed them safely with a stick and coffee can w/ a lid.

Wasps are not fun to have around. If you don't want them to return, which they will to a nearby spot, a spray of WD40 will wipe them out.
