The Black Isbar is an exceptionally rare breed from Sweden. The "BBS" in the name stands for "Blue/Black/Splash" for the feather colors this cross produces. It has wonderful homesteading potential! For one, the hens lay beautiful green eggs, occasionally speckled--standouts at any farm market. Additionally, they're just productive birds: good foragers and the hens very good layers.

What's really unusual about the Isbars is that they have single combs; every other green egg laying bird has a pea comb. If you want something really rare, you won't go wrong with the lovely Black Isbars!
