Twas the night before Solstice

Twas the night before Solstice
And all thru the forest,

The pagans were dancing
And singing a chorus

Earth, water, fire, air
We are everywhere!

All the creatures are freed
From their laboratory tests

To return to their warrens,
And warm little nests.

Now the loggers are rangers
Tending their trees,

And smoke wafts softly
To sweeten the breeze,

The Hemp is all harvested
And hung up to dry
The women are drumming
And I’m feeling high!

Earth water fire air
We are everywhere!

All the weapons are now plowshares,
All the prisons, daycares,

All the Safeways and Walmarts,
Farmer’s markets and street faires!

The Stars are all sparkling
Through smogless skies,

And the women can fearlessly
Look in men’s eyes.

Now the children can dance
Their sugar plum visions

Free from the Christian Fundamentalist
Missions

No more are they medicated
Tested, and graded,

And now that they’re free
They’re so dedicated.

Earth water fire air
We are everywhere!

They ask will it change
We have always been here
Sister to the moon, brother to the deer.
Living a life that lets life come alive
We are not striving
We’ve already arrived!

And I in my Kurta
In need of a nap
Could not settle down
So I came up with this rap!

So Happy Solstice to all,
And to all a Good night!!!
