? FRIENDS ?

You say to me that you want to be friends,
But just how fast can you make this end?
You say to me that you want to be friends,
But, how our communications you twist and bend.

You say to me that you want to be friends,
There is no love evidenced here my dear friend.
You say to me that you want to be friends,
But a broken trust is never easy to mend.

You say to me that you want to be friends,
Yet you’ve taken sides with all of them.
You say to me that you want to be friends,
And still, you don’t remember who I am.

You say to me that you want to be friends,
Yet, how well do you hold up your own end?
You say to me that you want to be friends,
But, you give nothing back and take without end.

You say to me that you want to be friends,
But it’s just a one way street here once again.
You say to me that you want to be friends,
You don’t really know who I truly am.

The friends I cherish are genuine and kind.
We share our gifts freely and with an open mind.
Tell me friend, please tell me true,
Which one of us here is rescuing who?
