Up Words


Using “Big” words has been called
my very own “eccentric sin.”
This is a just cause for illiteracy
that someday I hope to win.

I remember the days
of my own ignorant youth.
My language was foul
and considered uncouth.
I had written some rhymes
in those simpler times.
But today’s lengthy prose is
now to challenge all minds.

Why write of a leaf,
or a star hung on the moon?
There’s no challenge today
when you’re fed with a spoon.
So I’ll gather some words
that educate, don’t you see?
With the hopes they will send you
to the diction-ary.

It’s a collection of dialogues
that word lover’s must sort.
As they define every meaning
in my psychological retort.
So get out your dictionary
and just try to have fun.
And when it’s all over
some new insights have begun.

Human Emotions are very real
but they come with a price.
Learn them all while you’re young
and you’ll never think twice.
Some will seem like a riddle,
and some play like a #game#.

But illiteracy bites the bullet when
young shooters take their aim.
Accurate communications are my only
mission’s intended destination.
Dealing with Love’s “insentience” itself
is part of this writer’s literary machinations.

And what good would this be
without some old-sage advice?
Word frauds will soon be found out
and may have to read this prose twice.
So why not just enjoy
increasing your own fruitful mind?
For those carefree times a-comin’
when we can all peacefully exchange our rhymes.
