What is your position on Proposition 48?

What is your position on Proposition 48?

I have looked at it but nothing comes crystal clear to me on Indian Gaming Compacts. What do you think?

There is a link to more information about Prop 48, below.

Thank you ahead of time for your feedback!

Re: What is your position on Proposition 48?

I've been thinking about this for years and it still hasn't come clear to me. So this is how far I've gotten as of right now:

I think casino gambling is a total rip-off for everyone concerned, except the Las Vegas-style pros that run it and make the bulk of the rewards. It's a similar addiction to alcohol and cigarettes, and has caused a tremendous amount of pain to many people. I think forcing Native American tribes to get on the bandwagon and subscribe their support to gambling in order to get back what's been stolen from them for the last five centuries is about as mean-spirited as any scheme I can think of. Inevitably, the people who suffer from casino gambling, whatever color or race they might be, are poor people. What's the difference between casinos and Wall Street? There isn't any. I suspect that now I'll get jumped by people who have all sorts of reasons to want a casino in their hometown. Who knows? Maybe you'll make me change my mind. But I doubt it.

Your views reflect mine as well.

I really dislike my indecision, though. Come Election Day, I will have had to make a choice on the matter.
