The Unforgiven Psyche

I came here to clear my mind of the twisted feelings that happen everyday

to too many kind people by unenlightened individuals.

They can’t help it, they are Sleepwalking through life.

They are just thinking out loud, unaware of their own words or actions.

They engage me and then insult me for their own mistakes.



I reflected on my own thoughts of confusion and anger.

I feel used, I feel numb, I feel alone and invisible.

I don’t know what I did to get into their twisted headspace.

I’ve asked for Forgiveness, but there was none given to me.

How can they live with themselves ignoring the truth?



I started watching the birds in the sky who were putting on a show for me.

They glided in the air without a care in the world but to fly free.

Their freedom reminded me of the antithesis to my own situation here on Earth.

I thought about the fulfilling emotion of Complete Forgiveness.



I decided to make a list of all the names and reasons for my own pain

and began to Forgive them for their Indiscretions.

In my heart, I forgave them one by one, hurt by hurt.

After all this, I realized that I have to Forgive myself too.

I forgave myself for expecting someone else to make me feel connected.

I Forgave myself and the burden began to lift along with the fog in my mind.



The Ocean, the sky, the mountains, and the air,

all became crystal clear once again.

Yet, I couldn’t help but wonder:

What kind of universe are these poor souls living in

when they cannot Forgive another person?



What kind of Unfulfilled Life do they really live,

when they themselves are

Unforgiven?
