TASHIRAT EMERGENCY STORM RELIEF
The Tashirat Orphanage needs your help!
About 8 o’clock last night, April 15th 2014, a big lightning storm blew in with hurricane winds. It was quickly followed by the most massive hail storm, the likes of which even those among us who grew up in cold climates have never experienced. This was the most freak occurrence, since as most of you know, we are currently in the height of our hot and dry season here in central Mexico.

From the onset of the storm, our homes were pelted with a high speed torrent of marble sized hail balls for a full hour; the noise was deafening. Half a foot of hail accumulated everywhere, with drifts of 2 - 3 feet. Everyone is safe and our main homes were only damaged by flooding, but some of our most necessary external buildings and sustainability structures were badly damaged or destroyed.

Please help us to raise the funds needed to make the necessary repairs. We have opened a crowd funding page this morning and we so appreciate any help you can offer! We feel so privileged to have friends and supporters to turn to in a time of need like this.

Again, thankfully we are all alright and of course our kids are loving the fact that they are having a once-in-a-lifetime "snow day" and are even sledding. We will include those photos and stories in our next newsletter.

Thank you so much for your help and your support!
