As Sebastopol ( original name Batikletcawi, where elderberry grows) has declared October Pomo Honoring Month, the Pomo Project, a group of dedicated volunteers, has many events planned for October. I will post events on WACCO weekly; to see the whole month, please go to www.pomo-honor.org.
Starting Tuesday, Oct. 1st through the 31st, a show of art by Pomo youth will be on the walls of Coffee Catz. Related photos by Christine Cobaugh will be up at Slice of Life. Art by Johnny Clay and Sandy Eastoak will be featured at the Sebastopol Gallery.
On Sunday, October 6th, we welcome back the Pomo dancers who will be performing at the Sebastopol Farmers market at noon. Also on Sunday, at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m., "High Stakes", a one-act play by Jane Hirsh, featuring Marc Hirschman, Lori Curtis, Alma Deleon ,and Roxanne Jacobs, with music by cast members Paul Henry and Laura Shafer will be performed at Sebastopol Center for the Arts. These events are all free to the public, though donations are welcome. Please join us in honoring our 13,000 years long residents!
