48hr Film Festival Project - Seeking actress for lead role (Santa Rosa, CA)

SEEKING ACTOR (female 18-30) for High Def shoot with full crew on Sat. AUG 17th in Healdsburg, CA.

    Hello,

We are putting together our talent and production team for the 2013 Santa Rosa 48 Hour Film Festival competition. It's an international competition that has propelled many careers gotten people world class exposure in cinema and media. If you have never heard of this long-established and respected competition, please check out their site at 48hourfilm dot com.

This is an opportunity to participate in a film project that has the potential to help all involved. The competition rules state that everyone in the cast and crew must be volunteer. That being said, it's proof that anybody on the crew is giving their all to make a project they are proud of. Everyone is volunteering to create something really cool that, hopefully, can go on to have a long life on the international short film festival circuit.

There is no script at present because the rules of the competition are such that nobody knows the story elements until they are drawn out of a hat the night before the shoot. Each team in the competition will assemble and await the announcement of the story details that are required to be included in each film. For example, one of the competitions required every film to use the following elements somewhere in the film: an umbrella, an architect, and the exact line of "This is not the first time we've had to bail you out."

So the story elements are delivered on Friday night, then the film crews go to work shooting all of Saturday, then the film is edited and shown in a theater on Sunday. It's exhilarating to make an enter movie in only 48 hours. Later it will be screened at the Summerfield Cinemas

The director on our team has worked in television and motion pictures for years and has won awards for his work. His shorts have been seen over 800,000 times on the web. The crew also has a long history of working in professional film and video and will be using premium film gear.

Regardless of what story elements we will be given, we are seeking and actress (18-30) who wants to be the center of a really cool film. The film will be bold and visually strong. The right actor will be extremely natural in delivering dialogue and comfortable enough to take chances on screen. The tone of the movie will have an independent cinema feel that is somewhere between "Quintin Tarantino", "Lost In Translation", "The Kids Are Alright", and "Silver Linings Playbook". There may be strong themes and/or language, but it will be completely necessary to the film and will have artistic integrity.

If you are the person for this role (or if you know someone who would fit), even if without prior acting experience, pleases send us an audition here: sonomamediaarts at gmail.com

For this audition, please read two paragraphs of a newspaper article into camera. First read it like you feel it is the most amazing thing you have ever heard and you are internally moved by it. Then read it as if it means something terrible to you, then read it as if it is hilarious to you.

Even if you are not selected, this is a fun exercise for most actors!

Again, we apologize for not being able to offer pay, but the rules are the rules. However, we hope that by acting in this project, you will gain three things: The most important film sample of yourself to date, a fantastic experience of camaraderie working with a top-notch crew, and being part of a film that can go on to achieve amazing success.

We thank you in advance for your consideration and wish you the best of luck as you move forward with or without this project.
