Michael, I don't know who is doing this in Sonoma County, we have been doing it in Alameda County and Contra Costa County since 1968. You can check out our websites. Oakland Morehouse is our urban group and Lafayette Morehouse is our rural (now suburban area) group. We are a 45 year ongoing experiment in pleasurable group living, and many communities have been created based on our research - we teach courses too.

If you aren't already familiar with Diane Leafe Christian, I recommend you check out her book "Creating a Life Together", and here is a link to a great post she wrote on a permiculture forum about starting successful new communities. Her book is (IMHO) "The" book on starting an intentional community.

And East Bay Co-Housing is a great resource. Raines & Betsy Cohen seem to know everybody in the greater bay area and they can probably tell you about folks doing various kinds of intentional community in Sonoma - not just cohousing. Tell them George from Morehouse sent you.
