    How to green the world's deserts and reverse climate change

    I found this TED talk rather amazing: A fellow who has discovered that large herds of cattle, sheep and goats are not responsible for desertification (unless they're mismanaged and there is overgrazing). Indeed, they are absolutely essential for restoring barren land. And if they're used to restore vegetation on millions of acres, the effect could begin to reduce global warming (by sequestering carbon in organic matter).
