Support Sebastopol's 1st Ever Communications/PR Initiative at Tues Council Meet @7:30

Thanks to the request by Council Members Gurney and Jacob, tomorrow's City Council agenda (item 5) includes discussion of what will be an important and historic first for Sebastopol: an RFP for a public relations and communications consultant to tell the story of WHY SEBASTOPOL.

If you support this, please come to the Council meeting in the Teen Annex next to the Community Center about 7:30 (Tuesday April 2) and let Sarah and Robert and John, Patrick and Michael know that we support the intention of telling the world why our wonderful, Responsive Government does what it does--and what makes Sebastopol the special place to live in that attracts folks like us, our families, and businesses.

Why is our Council defending our ecology and pedestrian downtown by standing up to CVS' lawsuit, which claims a RIGHT to build a drive through window DESPITE a 5 to 0 vote to not approve of one?

Why the moratorium on Smart Meter installations until the California Public Utilities Commission represents we, the consumers who pay their salaries, and insist upon the free opt out from PG&E, instead of the $2,400 over 20 year swindle that PG&E is pushing?

Why do we choose to have the most harmonious relationship with free speech and the Occupy Movement of any City in the United States?

Why are we called Peacetown USA, and why do we love our local farms and sustainable way of life?

For the first time, the city is considering using a portion of the state economic development money that Sebastopol will be receiving to tell Sebastopol's story, and assist our City staff in interacting with the media, as well as using social media to build support for Sebastopol, and increase awareness of what's special about our community for the purpose of supporting local business.

PG&E and CVS spend tens of millions in PR. If you agree that it's time we developed the capacity to speak out, then please come to the meeting tomorrow and make a comment during public comment for Agenda Item 5, which can be read here.

Or you can write the City Council members at these emails:

[email protected], [email protected], [email protected], [email protected],
    [email protected]

Or express your opinion here on Wacco with gratitude or commentary...

    Thank you!
