9 years ago, Bassist Wendell Rand (Afrolicious/Pleasuremaker,Youssoupha Sidibe) along with singer Victor Sila Mutungi, started Sila and the AfroFunk Experience (SAFE) as a World Music ensemble, working in local clubs, but eventually playing many notable festivals like EarthDance and San Francisco's annual Stern Grove Festival. SAFE were also winners of the NAACP Image Award for Outstanding World Music Album: “Black President” in 2009.


GrooveSession
GrooveSession is a power trio out of Ontario, Ca. By every definition this band is sharing positive energy through music and dance. Great song writing and playing live is what these guys live for and it shows each time they take a stage. Building a reputation as the band that enjoys long sets with their fans fully engulfed and it doesn’t seem to matter the stage, room, club, sidewalk, parking lot, backyard or living room.
